JustEthan was discussing the need for higher voltage after improving from 4.3 to 4.5, noting increased heat generation. He emphasized learning through reading and hands-on practice, suggesting the new boards automatically adjusted their memory speeds. He advised staying stable at 4.3 until further improvements are made, warning against unnecessary stress. He mentioned a recent upgrade from an Ivy bridge setup to a Sky Lake configuration, which reduced gaming performance. He recommended upgrading the GPU or adding more RAM if possible, while keeping the CPU as it is. He also shared that his RAM was set at 2400mhz with an XMP profile, and he had manually adjusted the clock speed to 2200mhz for stability. He appreciated the advice and planned to purchase a larger RAM module and a GTX 1080 Ti Classified Edition in the future.

Lol, no worries. I just got back from work and haven’t had a chance to check anything. Tonight I’m going to play some games, and tomorrow I’ll try to help more. My system has 32gb of RAM—though I don’t really need that much. But if you can afford it, why not? I managed this time. I’m using a GTX 1080, not the 1070. The 1070 was fine for 1080p, but I upgraded to 1440p. The 1080 Ti is powerful, but as I mentioned, if you’re aiming for 1080p, you don’t need it. I almost spent $900 today on a 35" Predator 1080p monitor. I wish I’d stuck with the GTX 1070—it’s cheaper, but I didn’t. So I’ll wait a bit longer and maybe upgrade to something like the 1100 or the 1440p Predator 34” or ROG Swift. Not bragging, just thinking about it with the best refresh rates available.

JustEthan is sharing his thoughts about hardware choices. He mentions he hasn't had time to review anything lately, but plans to play some games tonight and will try more tomorrow. He notes he has 32gb of RAM, though he doesn’t need it all the time. He owns a GTX 1080 and recently upgraded from the 1070 to the 1080 Ti. He says he used to have the 1070 for 1080p but now is using 1440p, which made him upgrade. He acknowledges the 1080 Ti is powerful but believes you don’t need it if you’re not spending a lot. He also shares his experience with the 35" Predator 1080p monitor and mentions he almost spent money on it. He suggests waiting to upgrade to a higher resolution or a more expensive model like the ROG SWIFT PG348Q, noting the cost and shipping issues.
