Overclocked fx-8350 experiencing black screen issue
I realize now it was a mistake of mine, but I pushed my FX-8350 from 4ghz to 5 GHz in bios. I thought gradual changes would work, but after restarting the PC, the screen went black and stopped responding. I’ve heard about resetting the CMOS, though I haven’t tried it yet. Since I’m unfamiliar with overclocking, do you think there’s any chance I can recover?
5 GHz at once, that's quite a jump, not many individual 8350 processors can even reach that speed even after adjusting settings extensively. Reset the CMOS and attempt again, but this time with a more careful approach. Gradually increase the voltage step by step. The MB might struggle to provide enough power, and 212 evo seems suitable for around 4.4 to 4.5 GHz at most.
