Overclocked CPU issues with Microsoft Excel?
This unusual case but I loaded the bios to the F5G bios which supports BCLK overclocking. As soon as I open EVGA precision X to adjust the GPU fans, there is significant lag in Microsoft Excel and Word even after closing precision X. When I close precision X it reports that the program didn’t end properly. Would you like me to close the program? I’m not sure what’s causing the issue, but if a fix exists I’d be very grateful. I’m currently working in accounting and rely heavily on Excel for my tasks. Thanks in advance for any suggestions—I’m ready to try!
Adjusting the CPU's speed too much might lead to various system issues if the CPU, bus, or memory can't cope. Try reducing the overclock back to stock and check if the problem resolves. Additionally, an outdated BIOS could be causing performance problems unrelated to the overclock itself.

Rogue Leader:
Overclocking a CPU might lead to various system issues if the CPU, bus, or memory can't cope. Consider lowering the overclock to stock and check if it resolves the problem. It's also possible an older BIOS causes performance problems outside of it, enabling overclocking. Interestingly, my initial idea was to back off to stock, but I only experienced issues after opening EVGA Percision X. After a clean video driver install, it worked perfectly! Thanks for your assistance, I really hope the issue is completely fixed.
Hi,
Your overclock isn’t stable.
Download prime95 and run it for at least 12 hours.
If you experience freezing, errors, or overheating, further adjustments are needed.
Search YouTube for your CPU and motherboard to find relevant guides.
Thank you for your help—I’ve been testing this chip with several overclock attempts and have managed to stabilize it after some trials.
I’ve also noticed that after updating the BIOS, I had to disable EVGA Persicion X to fully resolve the issue. My guess is the program performed poorly after the BIOS change.
Appreciate your advice!
