Hi, I've been using an 8700k for a while and have kept it running at the same overclock for over a year. Previously, it would lower the clock speed when the computer was idle or under lighter loads. I think this was due to the "dynamic mode" setting in MSI BIOS. Now it doesn't change anymore—it's always running at 4.8Ghz across all six cores. This has never happened before, and I haven't made any BIOS adjustments. What might be causing this change?

I figured it out on my own: the windows power plan was set to high performance rather than balanced, but switching it to balanced resolved the issue!
