Hello. Your i5 4670k OCed to 4.2ghz is running smoothly with idle temperatures between 44 to 50°C. After applying new thermal paste, you're experiencing unusual behavior—playing Witcher 3 for more than an hour without exceeding 55°C. It's worth checking if the new paste is compatible and if the cooling setup is sufficient. Please let me know if you need further advice.

Temps sound good, actually you have a bit more thermal headroom than usual, if you're aiming higher
I'm struggling to exceed 4.3, I'm at 4.3ghz and 1.280 voltage. Your temps are roughly the same as the 4.2 OC. In other games they've gone up a little in the low to mid 70s. Is that acceptable?
It looks like you've reached the limit for your chip in that scenario. From what I think, anything above 70 is a bit excessive. If you're worried about chip life, better stay under it. Otherwise, it's fine.

Hello, I’m using an i5 4670k OCed to 4.2ghz. My idle temperatures are between 44 and 50°C. I just applied new thermal paste. Something strange happened—I played Witcher 3 for more than an hour and my temps stayed under 55°C. Can anyone advise if this is normal or if I should worry? Thanks.

Temps sound fine, honestly you have a little more themal headroom, if you wanted to go higher

The temperatures are looking good, but you might have a bit more headroom if you're aiming higher. I'm stuck at 4.3 with 1.280 voltage, and my temps are similar to the 4.2 OC. On other games, they've gotten a little warmer, reaching the low to mid 70s. That's fine?
