Overclock rebooting help

During overclocking, prime95 often triggered hardware errors. I raised the voltages expecting stability, but now my PC shuts down after roughly 4 to 5 hours of downloading something. Here’s what I have now:

Asus z68 pro
i5 2500k 3.3ghz @ 4.3 (100x43)
Voltage = 1.27

I’m using air cooling only.

For the Intel burn test, the maximum temperature on high is 75°C, and it reaches 78°C under very high settings. Any advice?

How much testing do you perform on prime try small FTTs? Check your memory clocks with memtest to ensure everything functions properly. I’m using AMD, and I’m not very familiar with Intel, but I think they’re similar.

How much testing do you perform on prime try small FTTs? Check your memory clocks with memtest to ensure the system runs properly. This is especially important for AMD systems, even though I'm not very familiar with Intel. It seems they're quite similar.

I ran the test on a 12-hour cycle and noticed a hardware issue with one core, which caused it to reset. I increased the voltage and it fixed itself. Sorry, I’m not very familiar with this stuff if you think I’m missing something haha.

Yeah, I'm also new to this stuff. Watching the temperature and having high voltages is important. The low-end motherboard is pretty bad, so putting a cooler on the high-speed board can really help. Also, placing a cooler near the socket can make a big difference. I don't know if this applies to Intel boards, but it seems useful.

times appear to be good, folks say Intel can manage them easily and my graphics card is also a top-notch model

What's your thought on lowering the RAM speed slightly or adjusting the timing? I've got 12GB Vengeance RAM running at 1600, and I recently made an overclock. Could this be the cause?

Your RAM is top-of-the-line, but the issue isn't there; try reducing it slightly and see if it works.
