Hi !
I've never overclocked before. I'm excited to play Civilization 6 (it's Friday!) and plan to use my old Radeon 7850 2 Gb by Asus at its full potential because I can't afford a newer card.
Questions:
1) Will there be any performance improvement?
2) Can you share a quick guide on how to do it? I've seen that website... any warnings?
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/04/1...AZdAujhCM8
3) Is there any software to monitor temperatures and stability?

It depends on whether you win the Silicon Lottery. Do these steps:
Download MSI Afterburner (Free Online)
Download Unigine Heaven Benchmark (Free Online)
Open both programs and run Unigine Heaven in the background continuously
Begin by gradually raising the Core Clock and Memory Clock slowly
Maintain the same voltage setting
Continue increasing until you encounter a limit where the Benchmark stops or shows errors

In most situations you'll notice a performance boost in games through overclocking.
Overclocking is simple! Just adjust the sliders. Make sure you do it slowly and carefully. Don't change the voltage!
Use Hwmonitor to monitor temperatures, but MSI Afterburner for overclocking. Afternurner also includes a built-in monitor. You'll need to configure a custom fan curve as well.
Good luck!

Create a tailored fan curve setting?
In the provided link, there appears to be an overclocking tool for Asus cards...

You can definitely use GPU Tweak, but I had a bad experience with it. It almost damaged my RX 480. MSI Afterburner didn't cause any problems for me. The custom fan curve is essentially a new profile rather than the default one. It specifies when and at what temperature the fans activate, along with their speed.

Well, I think I'll skip it. After adjusting the fan curve, don't alter the voltage, just use the MSI afterburner—results aren't that clear. Is there a beginner's manual available? Also, if the guy in my link achieves 1100 MHz, can I expect similar performance?

I'll check that out!
I have an xfx 550w power supply, an i5 4570, and my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H Micro ATX... does it affect anything?
I also plan to do a thorough clean-up of my cards. Running a benchmark on Unigine Heaven without overclocking, keeping the temperature at 70°C and only one fan running, should give me a good result.

The performance data shows improvement after optimization. Before optimization, the GPU scored 532 with 21.2 FPS at 860 MHz. After optimization, it reached 633 with 25.1 FPS at 1395 MHz. It appears the GPU is suitable for running Civilization 6.
