You're starting overclocking for the first time with your new R5 1600, moving from an i5-2500 and Z68. Your goal is to push it past the 3.7 turbo boost and beyond. The B450M motherboard should support this upgrade.

What model is this? There are countless options starting with that code. If you're referring to the DS3H, don't buy that board—opt for a Tomahawk Max or Mortar Max. Generally, overclocking doesn't help much with Ryzen processors. Just make sure your motherboard has PBO enabled if needed.

I received a B450 AORUS M with a budget setup. My good air cooler maintains the i5 below 60°C during both gaming and bench sessions.

Mediocre voltages and excessive overclocking offer minimal advantages. Just turn on XFR and PBO.
