I own an AMD FX-6300 at stock speed and an ASUS GTX-970 Strix. I think my CPU is limiting the GPU performance, since others are seeing significantly better results with the 970. I'm on a limited budget and unsure if it's worth upgrading to a Corsair H100i GTX with overclocking for 4.6+ Ghz or switching to an FX-8350. If I do overclock, I can still afford a 1080p, 144Hz monitor (currently 1600x900 at 60 Hz). I also have an ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 as my main GPU.

Boost that rough performer! But eventually you'll need to upgrade the CPU, though it's not a must right now.
