I haven't ever overclocked before, but I'm seeking a reliable guide. I've overclocked my GPU (gtx 980 TI), but not my CPU. I'm just starting out.
For your reference, this guide is quite alike: http://www.overclockers.com/3step-guide-...l-haswell/ Remember to get a quality CPU cooler if you plan to boost the voltage.

Be sure to use a quality CPU cooler if you decide to boost the processor voltage.
I currently have an H105 water cooler with Arctic thermal paste installed.
It seems you're suggesting a range of 1.280-1.300v is likely correct. I don't provide any guarantee with that claim =P. The guide explains the process of overclocking in detail.
Personally, I adjust the voltage to my liking and then tweak the frequency until it settles, after which I lower the voltage until it becomes unstable again. Then I slightly raise the voltage to restore stability.
Everything is outlined in the link you shared.
Usually the method involves boosting the multiplier and applying stress. If it passes again, continue; if not, raise the voltage and stress levels. Remember, each CPU behaves differently—success isn't guaranteed just because someone achieved a certain number. It's all about understanding the process and staying informed. Read up, keep an eye on temperatures, and enjoy the challenge.
what do you mean you can't fit 4690k on a lga 1151 board, it's meant for skylake cpu? anyways... download cpu monitor and prime 95, and maintain temp under 85c and 1.3v
Jaycen12345 is asking about compatibility issues with a high-end setup. They mention concerns about overclocking and BIOS limitations, noting that while they can manually adjust certain parameters, the system's capabilities are restricted. They also reference a specific image link for more details.
