Overclock hurt pc or virus?
Hey, I own a GTX 1070 superclocked system with 8GB DDR3 RAM, an FX-8350 GPU, and an M5A97 R2.0 motherboard. Usually I hit about 250 fps in CSGO, but recently I tried pushing my GPU to its limit. I set it all the way up and the fans got really loud, so I reverted it back. After that attempt, my PC barely managed more than 10 fps in CSGO. Did something get damaged or did a virus affect it? Thanks!
Did you adjust the Overclock settings? The main guideline in overclocking is to take very small steps, changing just one thing at a time. Start with the GPU frequency, test it, it’s fine. Then increase the CPU frequency slightly. If stability issues appear, raise the voltage a bit and see if it improves. Keep an eye on the heat; if it’s manageable, gradually boost the GPU frequency. Repeat this process until you reach your hardware’s full potential.

I only set everything up for a short time before reverting changes. I played PC for about three days after the update and it worked well. But three days later it started running very slowly. I own a Radeon 480 and can install it in my PC to check if the issue is with my GPU.
It's quite likely the additional warmth from the OC damaged the GPU. Move it to another machine and see how it performs.

Did you scale the Overclock back? The Number 1 rule in overclocking is BABYSTEPS!!!!! It's very possible that you have damaged your GPU by just cranking the settings all the way up. Any overclock should be done in small increments, with only changing 1 thing at a time. GPU frequency, test, ok good, CPU frequency up a little more, Oh stability problems, bump up voltage a little bit see if it helps, if so, monitor heat, if heat OK, bump GPU frequency a gain.... Lather Rinse Repeat until you come across your hardware's max abilities.
Hi Rhinofart (weird name, lol)
Can u take control over my PC via remote assistance and OC for me please
🙁

i always fall down and damage myself and the things i go down with.
Follow the BIOS instructions carefully to ensure the best and most reliable results. Reaching optimal performance required significant effort over nearly two weeks, with daily practice sessions of a few hours.
