overclock GTX 1050
overclock GTX 1050
You own an MSI GP62 7RD with the following specs:
Intel Core i7 770HQ @2.80GHZ
GeForce® GTX 1050 with 2GB GDDR5
16 GB RAM (8GB DDR4-2400 & 8GB DDR4-2100)
128GB SSD (NVMe PCIe Gen3 x4 / SATA)
1TB 2.5" SATA HDD
The challenge is that newer high-end games are struggling at 40-50 fps (AC issues, Witcher 3). My concern is lower VRAM but overclocking the GPU might push it to 60 fps.
If you're looking for a simple overclocking tool, could you recommend something beginner-friendly?
You mentioned you don’t have any thermal problems because you use an external fan plus the MSI internal fan at maximum speed and live in a cold climate.
Your RAM will settle for the slower of the two options, offering 16GB at 2133. MSI Afterburner is often used for GPU overclocking, which might slightly boost performance, but the gains are usually minimal. I don't think it's worth it. Mobile GPUs can be costly and hard to swap out. In any case, I wouldn't push things too far. AC Odyssey performs poorly across all hardware.
