Can I increase the overclock of my Fx 6300 to switch the frequency between 3.5GHz and higher values like 4.1 or 4.2GHz? In idle mode it stays at 1.4GHz.

Perhaps it varies based on the motherboard, CPU cooler, power supply, and the silicon lottery.
