Hi, I recently bought an old second-hand PC and cleaned it thoroughly. I’m trying to boost the CPU performance since that’s usually the bottleneck. Please help me out. (Sorry for my poor English).

My specs are:
- 2.66ghz Q8400 processor
- 8GB DDR2 RAM
- 2TB HDD
- 1GB ATI Radeon HD7770 graphics card
- CPU temperature around 30 to 40°C
- 86°F to 104°F
- MSI P43T-C51 motherboard
- 380 watt power supply
- CPU cooler with 6 heatpipes

This CPU is ten years old. Numerous users have modified it and exchanged their experiences. It should support a 400MHz FSB speed.

You might find a Q9650 CPU available on eBay priced around $25 for a 3GHz Quad-Core 1333Mhz processor, without needing to overclock. It also offers support for 16GB DDR2 memory.
