Hello! I just watched a video showing a YouTuber using tape to boost his Q6600's performance. It's not a huge overclock, but it's great to see what we can get out of these older chips.

I have a Q6600 on my Dell Optiplex and another Dell Optiplex (the 755, a bit newer) with a Q9400 installed. My question is, can I try this "tape mod" to push more GHz from it?
I plan to reinstall Windows, so doing an overclock should really help!
Thanks in advance!

It's tough to say unless you give it a shot. But honestly, folks used to either hide pins or use jump pins to achieve certain multipliers.

Hi there, RGinHD, I believe it's feasible using any LGA775 chip. Just ensure your cooler is powerful enough!
