Overclock 6600k using adjustable multiplier
Overclock 6600k using adjustable multiplier
Hello to everyone,
I'm trying to increase my CPU's speed to 4.2GHz and reduce the clock to 3.5GHz when it's not being used...
Here are the details:
Model: Asus z170 pro gaming
Processor: Core i5 6600K
I've already used the sync all cores method, which keeps the CPU at 4.2GHz constantly. Now I need to adjust the settings so it drops to 3.5GHz during idle.
Thanks in advance.
Ensure the EIST (Speed Step) feature is activated in the BIOS settings.
that's the standard method for increasing the speed. the adaptive frequency relies on power-saving options, and the speed adjustment is part of it. which software are you using to track the frequency?

which program do you use to check the frequency?
i'll look through the bios for useful details!
i'm using task manager, ASUS, HwMonitor...
HW monitor (or AI Suite) display shows the correct frequency. When testing the frequency, avoid running benchmarks or stress tests; otherwise, you may see the maximum value. Boot the computer, wait a few minutes, and verify the frequency while it's idle.
