Over clocking ram
Hi, just wanted to share my thoughts. I’m about to list my PC specifications. Here’s what I have:
GTX 950 2GB SC
Intel Pentium G3258 3.2 GHZ
DDR3 SINGLE 8GB RAM
450W PSU
MSI H81M P33 MICRO MOTHERBOARD
Regarding my RAM, I found its speed is only 1333mhz and it claims a max of 1600mhz. My motherboard doesn’t support XMP, so I can only push it to 1400mhz. Is that a reasonable increase? And what other upgrades could I consider in the future? I’m planning some changes soon but for now this setup is what I have.
What is the claimed frequency of the memory? Is it a 1333mhz or a 1600mhz model?
Please ensure the most recent BIOS version is installed.
If this doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to set the memory speed to the default SPD value or adjust it manually in the BIOS, as no XMP option appears in the setup menu.
In reality, you won't notice a major difference between 1333mh and 1600mhz.
