Output freezes during alt+tabbing away from games or launching new browser tabs
Hello everyone, I’m facing a problem where, particularly when playing VALORANT (and also other games), every time I press Alt+Tab to switch tabs, the monitor freezes. I need to restart the whole system to fix it. During these freezes, people in Discord can still hear me, and in-game sounds or videos continue to play. My keyboard and mouse still function normally—they stay lit up and respond to macros like Win + CTRL + Shift + B for reloading graphics drivers. I also hear the standard beep when I run the driver, but the monitor remains stuck.
Technically, my setup looks like this:

- AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
- Trident Z5 Neo RGB 2x16GB
- 6000MT/s CL32 (AMD Expo off)
- Gigabyte Aorus Master RTX 4070ti
- Bequiet Pure Power 11 1000W WD Black SN850X
- 2TB Corsair H150i Cappelix
- OS: Windows 11 Education Version 23H2, Build 22631.4317
- Drivers: NVidia Game Ready Driver v566.03
- BIOS: ASROCK BIOS v3.10
This issue happens consistently, sometimes it works to switch tabs but freezes right after. System temperatures are normal, all drivers and Windows are up-to-date (as of November 9th). The Windows Event Viewer doesn’t show any errors. Occasionally it also occurs when opening a new tab in Chrome and dragging it into a new window.
Someone has suggested a full wipe and reinstall, but that’s my last resort since I have many important files saved and configured.
