Hey, I'm having a problem with Outlook where emails aren't saving to the right place. It's really annoying because I don't even know if I actually sent that message. After checking forums and settings, I found something weird: when I reply or start a new email, sometimes it says "don't save" under options > Save Sent Items, while other times it uses the default folder. What does "sometimes mean?" About half my Outlook sessions have this "don't save" setting, and about half just use the default folder. If I check for "use default folder" or pick a specific folder after turning off saving, I have to do that again every time; the old option never sticks there. I don't want to reinstall Office. Repair didn't fix it, and fixing my inbox didn't help either. Does anyone know how to force Outlook to save sent messages in a default folder (or any other place)?
I don't know where you're looking and I can't find a "sometimes" option here. In Outlook, go to Options > Mail > Change settings for messages you send and get. Scroll down to Save messages. Are all the boxes checked? When is Automatic Save set to happen? Check everything else too so it matches what you want. If or when you make changes, be sure to "OK" them to keep them saved.
Hey, when I check those save messages, I see two choices: one says "3 mins" and the other has both "4th" and "5th". You know we already looked at this right away!
