Hi All,
I hope you're all doing well. I recently set up a new Windows 11 PC with Office 2019 installed.
I have two email accounts – one Gmail and one Outlook.com account.
Gmail is my main account, so I configured it in Outlook a few weeks ago. I faced some issues because of the two-factor authentication, but after several attempts it worked eventually.
Today I'm trying to connect my Outlook.com account to Outlook, but it's not connecting properly.
I also have two-factor authentication enabled on my Outlook.com account. When logging in, I entered my password, but Outlook told me it was incorrect even though it was correct for the web app.
Since it's a two-factor setup, I went through Security/Advanced Security Options and generated an App Password. However, when I enter the app password on the Outlook login screen, it still displays 'wrong password'.
I've also tested my authenticator app on my phone as another option, but that didn't help either.
I attempted to receive a text message to my mobile number, but only numbers ending in 82 are accepted. This is confusing because my Microsoft account doesn't have an assigned phone number, and even after adding it, the system still only shows 82.
I'm not sure if anyone can assist me with this issue. Thank you for your help.

Log in to Outlook.com using your usual login details.
Tap your initials at the top right, then choose View Account.
Navigate to Security and pick Update.
Go to More security options and select Explore.
Move to the app passwords section and select Create a new app password.
Enter the generated app password on the following screen and remember it.
In Outlook2019, enter this app password when signing in.

Hi popatim,
thank you for your response. I believe I've already attempted this but will try once more tomorrow as the system keeps showing the error 'You've tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect account or password'. I'm sure it will work again then.
Appreciate your assistance so far.
