My Windows 10 update changed how the desktop icon appears, adding outlines around the text which makes it difficult to read. This happens mainly when the background image is bright near the icon. If you place it on a dark area of your background, it works better. Someone can assist you with this issue.

It seems the text was cleared earlier, though I wasn't familiar with this issue. Still a bit confusing but okay now. It appears the background image is pulling some color into the text and using it for outlining. Would be great to fully remove the outline effect. Thanks!

More testing has revealed I can't work with any light background images. Using a bright one causes the desktop icon to become blurry and hard to read.

I noticed it’s set to "Smooth edges of screen font." Your text should now be clearer. Thanks for the tip! The screenshot was taken on your German Windows 10 system.
