Since I've had a computer, I've consistently used free Avast, Malwarebytes, and Spybot Search and Destroy. Anyone else follow this routine? A colleague who's been in IT for nearly 15 years highly recommends these tools together as a package. They work smoothly even when running multiple programs simultaneously. For Spybot, I stick with the 1.6.2 interface instead of the updated version.
Malwarebytes and Kaspersky are effective. Avast covers many threats. Spybot remains unclear.
Spybot, yes Malwarebytes, yep Avast lol no never worked good for me. tried nod32 and stayd there,
I've always been interested in Kaspersky and will if I ever choose to buy antivirus protection. For now, I've used Avast for years without any issues. Spybot is excellent—it provides extra virus defense, handles malware, tracks cookies, and more. It also includes a real-time feature that blocks sites with known viruses. I suggest checking it out on Google.
I will examine Spybot. The reason you haven’t encountered problems with Avast is due to its limited virus detection capabilities. My friend has been using it for more than two years, and we recently switched him to Kaspersky, which identified over 50+ viruses that Avast missed.
I also use the same setup, even though Malwarebytes and Spybot aren't active at startup, I activate them only when required.
For a quick check, use the provided scanner tool at http://www.kaspersky.co.za/virus-scanner
I’m using the same setup as my previous PCs. Before this one, I kept all features running in the background, but now I mainly rely on it for gaming and don’t want it consuming too many system resources. Usually I run them once a week or so, and I’m more careful with a few sites when I need to browse.
I'm not sure about the product, but I think it's worth trying since people say it's great. I haven't used it much outside my usual sites yet, so I'm cautious but open to testing. It would be nice to see if it picks up anything new and help decide whether Avast or Kaspersky is better for me.
