All Source Engine titles rely on dual-core processing. If it feels like a poorly optimized tool, it’s likely just a test—others will improve. Also, verify the details; each Source Engine game offers a choice between single-core or dual-core operation.

It wouldn't work unless both games could assist. Not just CSGO, not just Portal 2—neither would help. I understand the basics, and I realize they can run on more than two cores even if they don’t need four.
