Hi all!
I'm planning to start college this fall and need a laptop for the next four years or more. My main needs are portability and battery life since I'll carry it in a backpack for long periods. A dedicated GPU is necessary for light gaming during breaks, and I'm okay with playing most games at 30fps. I don’t need a high-end upgrade from my current desktop, so I’m thinking of something with a 6-core CPU, RTX 2060 equivalent or better, and 16GB RAM. I also want good build quality and a professional-looking design with a touch display and pen support. I’ll be purchasing in the US.

Looking at options, the Dell XPS 15 with a 13700H and RTX 3050 seems to cover most of my requirements, though it’s quite expensive. I haven’t found another laptop series that matches all these features, but I’m open to alternatives if you know of any similar models.

If you possess ample funds, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 14 offers a sleek unibody aluminium frame, an excellent mini LED IPS screen, an i7-13705H processor (14 cores, 6P, 8E), a 6Gb Nvidia graphics card, and supports up to 32GB of RAM. You can run any available games today, though not at full performance. As a 14-inch model, it’s also very portable and remains one of the top ultra-thin laptops on the market.

In the United States, it carries a different name, so be sure not to mix it up with the similar 2-in-1 convertible model.

If that price feels out of reach and your requirements are simpler, consider laptops featuring the Ryzen 7 6800U CPU. It provides strong built-in graphics and can handle most tasks at lower settings and resolutions.
