I've faced challenges with various laptop devices after my previous one failed. Eventually, I settled on a MacBook Pro, even though I lean slightly toward Windows and Linux. My iPhone has definitely strengthened my preference for the Mac side. Still, Finder remains a pain—especially when browsing large networks. It slows down significantly with more than a couple dozen files, turning folder navigation into a struggle. The issue isn’t the NAS setup but performance under load. I’m open to dual booting if it meets my needs. Thanks!

Also mentioned is the synergy between username and post. That username is a classic from back in 2003, hehe.

It seems you're facing a challenge with this specific problem. Have you considered switching to NFS instead of SMB?
