Avoid using an illegal key from the start. You don’t need to turn on Windows, do you?
Many people suggested simply installing the genuine Windows 10 Pro and activating it later. I chose this approach since I didn’t want my new components to sit unused over the weekend while my Windows didn’t arrive by Friday, along with the other parts. I downloaded it on Friday and set up the system I’m currently using.
They are many methods to crack Windows, and none of them are open source to my knowledge. So we don't know how they work exactly, and if they might contain other surprises that no one wants, which can easily be undetectable. So you risk carrying it, or potentially having Microsoft automated systems block your genuine key as some modified system files triggered something... we just don't know... heck, the crack might even monitor for genuine keys and send it somewhere to resale it... I doubt it, but everything is possible is my point. We just don't know for sure at 100%. Heck, we don't know if the telemetry data tracking has been modified to be set to Full, while you set it to Basic, and sends it with personal information to some other server. I have yet read of such crazy thing, but then again, as much as crazy that is, on Android, legit apps on a legit Android non-jail broken, from Google Play Stores, have apps that contains advertisement system that continuously turns on the phone mic as the app runs and listen to conversations, and tries to find TV adverts, and tries to build a profile of it users from the phone personal information it gathers and TV ads. Google answer to this, is to finally do what Microsoft has done for along time: Privacy option to allow/disallow mic and camera for specific apps. Sadly, you need to wait for the following Android version. Google is not pulling these apps. https://arstechnica.com/information-tech...ds-in-ads/ So yea.... my point, we just don't know what crazy stuff can happen from a crack of an OS (remember the OS controls your whole system, without one, your PC is a just an expensive door stop. It has massive complexity and power. It's not a game or program you are cracking where it coule be harmful, but limited to the OS security layers.. this has no security layers). So I would clean install. Or better yet, if you plan in getting Windows legit soon, run Windows 10 under trial mode until you buy it, and just enter the key once you have it, and you are done. (not sure if OEM keys would work though.. never tried).
