I switched from Windows 8 to 10 and tried formatting the C: drive. Steam recognized the games on D: but not on Origin. To ensure Origin sees the installation, check its settings or reinstall if needed.

It seems like you're wondering why someone thinks you might be doing something incorrect, especially since you've reinstalled Windows multiple times without needing to reinstall any origin games.

The best option seems to be restoring the game. It's frustrating, especially since even Bad Company 2 needs about half an hour to do so.

The download location is on the D drive, which holds all the games yet installed, and it hasn’t been formatted. When Origin tries to launch it, it prompts you to download but doesn’t start the installation process. It shows “Installing” without indicating progress or completion percentage.

I can definitely get creative with a lot of stuff from the beginning... but if you rely on Origin more than once a month just to reload a game, please assist the OP.

No, the download folder and install folder are distinct locations in the source. The download folder holds files for downloading, while the install folder is where the application is ultimately installed.

I don't notice any problems with reinstalling the game. As long as it doesn't re-download the game, I'm fine. For op, just copy your original games folder to the D drive, point origin to it, and install the games—it shouldn't need a re-download.

The two directories are D:\Origin and D:\Origin\DownloadCache. Yes.

I understand my ability, yet a 30-minute setup for an 8GB title suggests I need more time for a large Origin collection.
