You can purchase BattleLog without creating an origin account, but the disk version requires one. BattleLog alone is sufficient if you're just playing offline.

Yes, it's required, and the origin isn't that terrible. It's not as bad as Uplay.

Yes it is. One tip though... If you use Fraps or MSI Afterburner FPS counter or any other kinda FPS counter and even monitoring software right click on the game in the Origin library, click game properties and disable "Origin in Game". It causes so many problems.
