The simplest approach I’ve considered is reinstalling Windows and arranging your partitions as desired from the start. However, for some experiments I’ve tried reducing the boot drive size (256GB M.2) on my R3, and it worked smoothly, suggesting the drive size might be the issue.

Have you explored using the disk management feature in Windows? Navigate to the desired drive, adjust the volume settings, and see if it resolves your issue. There are various tools available for partitioning hard drives.
