Hey, just checking in—did you preorder the Witcher 3 Limited EDT with the plastic Gerald and Griffon? I want to know if it’s compatible with Steam, especially since I’m trying to get the pre-order right now.

It seems it's available via GOG as well, possibly Steam too. Not entirely certain.

It's DRM-free, which also applies to Steam. I've preordered the version you mentioned and will keep it. You can add other games not on Steam to your library and run them through Steam or the Steam overlay just like usual.

It's a bit confusing, but it seems straightforward. The platform they use likely has its own system, and I'm sure you'll find a copy there. The upcoming release of Gog Galaxy is also on the horizon.

I'm excited about meeting their client, though I've been holding back because of the missing one. I have some GOG titles, but I'd purchase more if they offered a better client experience.

Apologies, I understand it's Geralt and I missed the spelling.

I agree, I’ll buy the Steam version too. They really earned every penny they could get—the games are solid so far, though Witcher 2 isn’t a huge hit. I’m okay with that.

This situation happened to me. I own the retail and Steam editions of 1 and 2 (non-collector versions) and because I received them late and at such a low price, I decided to go for the CE of 3. I appreciate the concept of displaying the medallion on my wall. Also, if you have Steam or retail versions of 1 or 2, you can enable them on GOG to get free backup copies in your account. I prefer CDPR, as they offer loyalty discounts on pre-orders for previous title owners. If you didn’t purchase them on GOG, you can still activate your other versions and receive the discount. Additionally, since I’m based in the UK, if I buy Witcher 3 on GOG, they adjust the price conversion so that what I pay in pounds is more than what US customers pay in dollars. They add the difference to your GOG account for use with other games. If I had bought it from Amazon, I wouldn’t have seen this advantage, and they also reduce their profit margin. These aspects are what make them appealing to me.

Yes, even if you weren’t a big fan of Witcher 2, the free 10GB update for the enhanced edition is hard to dispute. There hasn’t been any paid DLC released for either game yet, but I’m hoping things will change soon. In a recent chat with the developers, they mentioned considering DLC for Witcher 3, though any paid expansions would likely be major additions. It’s still uncertain how it will turn out, but I’m optimistic. Another project worth keeping an eye on is Cyberpunk 2077—hopefully it becomes the next big thing for them, and they won’t lose all their focus on Witcher MMO.
