I placed a pre-order for 5900x across three stores and collected 5800x right away since it was in stock. One shop told me it was just sending my 5900x, which is fine for me. All activities happened between 3:02 and 3:03 on launch day (launch was at 3pm in Poland).
You paid in advance for three 5900x units and then settled for a 5800x. What's the question?
I paid 550 plus tax, so yes, full price, but I won't be charged until it ships and I can cancel it anytime before then so I'll just wait until I if I can find it somewhere else sooner then I'll cancel my B&H order once it arrives from wherever I've potentially found it. I'm upgrading from a i7 6800k to a ryzen 5900x because of framerate dips to 80 in apex and fortnite when I want a consistent 240fps.
I'm confused about the need for 12 cores for Apex and Fortnite. More cores don't automatically mean better performance. A 5600x would be sufficient.
I can afford it and I need more power. I’d choose a 5950x if it was available and didn’t lag behind a 5900x in certain games. A 5900x might be more overclocked than a 5600x, I think.
