Ordered a 5900x at 8:05am on the launch day, then placed it back on hold. I received a message from B&H Photo asking if I should expect long wait times. They mentioned they don’t know shipment sizes and receive deliveries every two weeks from AMD, suggesting more may arrive later. Updated: Called them back and they confirmed uncertainty about quantities per shipment. I’ve paid the full amount with tax, so I’ll wait until it ships and can cancel beforehand. I’m upgrading from an i7 6800k to a Ryzen 5900x because of frame rate drops to 80 in Apex and Fortnite, needing steady 240fps.
It's crazy. You can still purchase them here, and the information from the sites suggests a small shipment will arrive next week and again the following week. All AMD CPUs are expected to be available soon.
