I've attempted to update the Windows 10 PC at work several times, but the process consistently fails. After enabling verbose status messages in the registry, the computer freezes at the Update Orchestrator Service and remains stuck for about 30 minutes before restarting. Eventually, I have to power off the machine using the button. Since it's an office computer, I can only fix things on weekends, which is becoming quite frustrating. If this were my personal PC, I’d simply disable updates altogether—but that didn’t work either. Any suggestions?

Have you considered restoring Windows by reinstalling it?

I handle backups, yet fixing reinstalls seems tricky. The updates often stop working, so I can delay them for a month, but then the issue resurfaces.

If restarting didn’t help, rebooting in turbo mode resolves most of my Windows problems.

Typical solution involves removing the SoftwareDistribution directory within the Windows installation folder.
