orange illumination drives the setup, while the orange light continues to activate
specs, intel 11700f corsair hx750 psu 4x 8gb 2666mhz kingston fury ram nvidia 1660ti (planned upgrade to 3070) msi 590z pro wifi motherboard with around 512gb m.2 ssd i upgraded my old main system from an alienware aurours a11. I removed the CPU and added more parts to build a stronger machine for future upgrades. The current issue is the orange DRAM light flickering between red and solid orange, repeating a few times before switching to a steady orange. It happens a couple of times. When I try different RAM sticks in various slots, the behavior changes—two work together without any red light, one works in the third slot, and another alternates between them. I’ve reset the CPU multiple times, cleaned the contacts, and scrubbed the RAM without fixing anything. I don’t have any idea what’s causing it, having watched many YouTube tutorials with no improvement. Anyone have tips that might help?
It seems the problem is more related to Ryzen than i3, 5, or 7/9 processors. You should look at MSI's QVL list for recommended RAM for that board. Some configurations can be quite surprising about RAM. I had a machine that frustrated me for months until I found this.
