Hi Everyone I received a batch of old computers and plan to upgrade them with SSDs and basic GPUs. I made a USB boot media and attempted to install Windows 10 on the GX520, but encountered an issue. The system identifies the USB drive and begins the installation up to the initial window logo, then abruptly restarts—often before reaching the screen where I select language and other settings. I’ve used the USB boot process many times before and it never happened this way. The boot media appears intact since I tested it on another laptop. The PC also detects the SSD I installed. I tried disabling fast boot and unplugged all other USB devices including the keyboard and mouse, but the restart still occurs. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

When Optiplexes include Pentium 4 processors, Windows 10 might not be compatible, leading to installation issues.

You might need to adjust certain BIOS configurations. I suggest checking the NX setting and observing any differences. Switching between a CD installer and USB could also be beneficial. Some older systems are sensitive to USB-based OS installations. If a newer BIOS release is offered on Dell's site, consider updating it as well.
