He’s looking to replace the CPU and motherboard on his Optiplex 9010. I’ll help figure out which options fit in the chassis. He’s considering an AMD setup too. Let me know what he’s planning!

It depends on whether it's a full ATX or a mini-tower setup. Also, if the power supply is brand-specific, you might need to adjust that component.

The motherboard is an M-ATX model, and any standard or full-size ATX board should work fine. He shouldn't face any issues installing it.

Sure, I can help with that. Look for a CPU in the 100–150 dollar range and pair it with a mid-range to high-end motherboard under $200. Prioritize reliability and future-proofing for better value.

I suggest an i3 10100+ from Asus Prime H410. I can locate this setup for around 150 euros or about 182 dollars. You might also find an i3 9100f with a budget motherboard, but saving up is better for this combination. Anything less seems unlikely to be worthwhile unless you look in the used market.
