Options for replacing MS Office
Options for replacing MS Office
I really enjoy MS Office...but I'm not comfortable paying $220 for a license and "subscription" options aren't appealing to me.
Are there any non-brand "office" suites that won't leave me disappointed and make me regret the decision? Focus on the data analysis features in Excel. Plus, alternatives to MS Project (same problem).
Absolutely, that was the main thing I appreciated. Almost no variation and similar capabilities.
Open Office, Libre, and Google Docs are all decent options. Most resemble older Office versions, with slight differences in commands and interfaces. Another note: Office used to be a purchase/download model rather than a subscription service like Office 365. It's not rare to find people with the keys for older versions such as 10 or 12. These keys usually permit up to three reinstalls on the same machine before they expire. Around 2010, support likely ended, so it's uncertain if you can still locate the installer, though the version for 12 should still function. I haven't been personally tested with newer versions for my needs.
Information about Trello might be available for a very low price on sale.
I bet if you require the features of Project, you'll have to purchase it.
