The feature you're looking for isn't available in the Windows 11 settings, but it's present in other places like settings or videos. You might want to enable it to remove FPS lock when playing games in windowed or borderless mode.

What are your hardware details? Have you updated your GPU drivers? Did you verify VRR compatibility with your GPU? Are you using a WDDM 3.0 driver version? You can find this in the dxdiag window, in the Display section. Is your GPU driver set to DCH? Have you reviewed your graphics card settings to confirm the feature is active?

Thanks for your effort, but I discovered why VRR isn’t showing... It’s because my monitor doesn’t support g-sync or freesync. ********* WARNING - WINDOWS RANT* I upgraded to Windows 11 after hearing they finally fixed the windowed FPS cap to be unlimited, which seemed like a lie. The “optimization for windowed games” doesn’t function well at all. I play a game that needs very high FPS (up to 400 fps) and stable performance, so I use fullscreen mode. However, I frequently switch tabs with alt-tab, which often causes issues. In windowed mode without any optimizations, my frame rate stays steady at 60fps, and animations run smoothly. But when I enable the “optimization for windowed games,” my FPS only rises by about 20—from 60 to 80—despite my hardware being capable of 400. The screen animation becomes choppy or flickers, making it feel like I’m playing at 25 fps. Why did Microsoft introduce this cap after Windows 10 1708 when it worked perfectly before? Why is it so hard to play in windowed mode now? I can’t understand why they added these restrictions after all the troubleshooting. For those wondering if it’s time to switch to Windows 11... No, it’s not the right moment.
