Intel spec is 1.52v, so I’m not worried about running 1.7v+ for short while as long as it doesn’t overheat. It’s a decent but expensive Pentium, so I guess I’ll just check if it holds up at 2.1v if things degrade too much. RAM voltage requirements for IvyTech IMX are around 2.1v, which seems reasonable compared to ASUS’s 2.2v and X58’s 2.46v.
I know the specifications for it well. You'll discover they aren't the high-performance CPUs you're familiar with.
The timing and power consumption figures aren't very useful. Pentium models generally share similar performance metrics with standard core CPUs. It would be a hassle trying to switch to an i3 or i5 just because of this, though there are also E3 Xeons available.
But does it reach 5GHz? If I end up needing a high-core-count CPU, I’m leaning toward something around 2500MHz because of the cable limitations and the fact that the CPU will be running at 1.5GHz plus 5GHz with some funky tricks. Although an E3 Xeon might be better since they’re just bundled core CPUs.
