Hello everyone, I'm experiencing frustrating micro stuttering (every 5-10 seconds) issues while playing several games, including Valorant, Rocket League, and Helldivers 2. I've tried to troubleshoot the issue myself but haven't had any luck so far. Here are the specifics of my system: - Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI - GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4090 O24GB ROG Strix Gaming - CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D - PSU: Seasonic Prime PX-1000 - BIOS Version: 2613 - Memory: 2x 16GB DDR5 G.Skill F5-6000J3038F16G - Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Professional (x64) Build 19045.4291 (22H2) - EXPO I enabled - fTPM Disabled To give you an idea of the issue, I have attached some SS showing the frame timing from Valorant, Rocket League, and Helldivers 2. From the images, you can see the irregular frame pacing which I believe is causing the stutters. Only video stutters, audio is normal. Here's what I've tried so far: - Updated all drivers, including GPU and motherboard firmware. - Monitored CPU and GPU temperatures (all within normal ranges). - Disabled fTMP based on some posts of with similar issue. - Disabled EXPO. - Fresh Windows install. - Updated BIOS from 1809 to 2613 Despite these efforts, the problem persists. Could this be an issue with my hardware setup or possibly a software/configuration issue? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help! Add the chipset drivers and configure the CPU SMU CPPC to prioritize cores caching.

Here are some suggestions you might find useful:
- Windows Power Plan set to High Performance?
- Have you attempted disabling CCD1?
- Have you explored guides for using Process Lasso to maximize CPU usage?
- Have you tried pausing all cores?
- Are you considering Windows 11 because its scheduler better distributes tasks to prioritized CCDs?

This problem with 7950x3D is well documented and generally not worth the investment. It’s hard to resolve the stuttering issue, but because of the multi-CCD design, you’re usually forced to turn off certain cores or revert them during production. You might try disabling cores temporarily, though results vary widely—some users reported success with around eight different configurations. For a clean setup, ensure you’re installing Windows 11 from a recent, up-to-date source. The post mentions a fresh install, so it’s likely you used an older ISO version.

It's perfectly fine with the 7950x3D when you set it up correctly.

Not everyone is affected equally—some face serious challenges. If it functions well for you, that's positive. Fixing these inconsistent performance problems across different systems remains a major hurdle.

Even without opening the BIOS, running Windows 11 with GameBar enabled and the newest chipset drivers meets the requirements for this processor. If problems persist, consider alternative solutions.

Follow my previous steps, turn it off and disable CCD1. 7800XT3D is active. I always use the full 16c/32t setup, though I'm planning to revert soon. Even then, the UEFIs usually reflect the preferred core settings. Few people seem to adjust this because no one covers it on YouTube. I've noticed micro stutters and they often stem from driver issues, which can be fixed completely with CPPC preferred core configurations.

Chipset drivers have been updated. Tested both CPU SMC CPPC preferred cores for frequency and cache, but neither resolved the issue. Windows is set to High Performance mode. Disabling it didn’t help either. I’m unfamiliar with the Process Lasso feature and plan to investigate further tomorrow. I previously turned off fTPM, but setting it back was difficult—system would freeze in BIOS or during startup. After several attempts to reset BIOS via battery removal and different configurations, a stable boot was achieved for Win 11 Update. However, Windows Update failed to recognize the machine as ready. I’ll reboot and try again tomorrow. Also tested turning off CCD and adjusting CPU SMC CPPC settings, but those didn’t work. I intend to create a fresh, updated install of Win 11 and test it then. Thanks for your support; today was quite challenging in troubleshooting. Regards.

So if you're using High Performance, it's a solid starting point. If disabling the CCD isn't boosting performance, it could indicate other setup or build issues we need to address. Regarding "Process Lasso," there are plenty of guides on YouTube explaining its functionality and usage, especially for 7950x3D/7900x3D configurations. But based on your input, it seems worth exploring NVIDIA settings first. In the Control Panel, adjust "Threaded Optimization" to 'On'. These are some suggestions I can share right now. Keep in mind, if this doesn't resolve things, I might need to disassemble and rebuild the PC from scratch. Double-check all connections—loose ones can cause problems even if the system starts fine. Also, inspect the CPU socket for any bent pins; sometimes a simple re-seat helps. Modern builds can be tricky, but attention to detail usually makes a difference. I hope we can find a way forward together.
