Optimize your setup for smoother performance in Arma 3.
Your system has a solid setup but could benefit from upgrades to boost performance. Consider adding more RAM, a faster storage device, or a better graphics card if you're looking to improve frame rates.
Start by verifying the initial steps, then use MSI Afterburner to track temperatures during gameplay.
6600k or possibly an i7-6700 if you have one nearby. A microcenter close by would cost about $200 for the i5 and around $260 for the i7.
What changes are you attempting to install? On which terrain is this happening? Altis is an extensive area, and it can significantly impact performance on a PC. Even with a Skylake processor, Altis still presents challenges. Stratis tends to be more compatible with PC systems. Many problems you encounter might be specific to a particular mod, the map itself, or your configuration settings. I've been through over 1,000 hours of Arma 3 and am quite comfortable with it. Besides its popular mods, DayZ, Life, and Wasteland are among the most supported due to fewer bugs. Conversely, smaller mods or maps released by a single developer may have unresolved issues that haven't been addressed. This doesn't mean any particular mod is flawed; it simply reflects the effort some creators put in or the lack of widespread testing. I've invested considerable time in various titles. Some mods are exceptional, requiring immense dedication, while others are newer and may still be in development. The key is minimizing your draw range. At 750 meters I played on a 2500k, 1500 meters by car, and 2500 meters by plane. My system was stock with a 8GB RAM and a 670 chip. In more rural zones, higher distances might be acceptable, but in larger cities like Kavala on Altis, you may need to reduce your draw range. Also, with all the DLCs, while entertaining, they add complexity and more content to manage. The textures are richer compared to the original version. It's been a while since I played, but I'm eager to assist. I cherish Arma 3 and always look for quality mods to enjoy until something more interesting emerges. I'm a lifelong fan of the series. I haven't played Arma 3 since Fallout 4's release, testing my newer hardware. Feel free to ask—I'll do my best to clear up any confusion.
