I’m not sure if anyone can assist, but here’s what I’ve got. My PC is a bit basic for gaming, so it won’t run games smoothly. I’m trying to boost my FPS in main titles like Ark, even though the game isn’t fully optimized. My specs are: AMD FX6300, GTX 750 Ti, 4 hard drives (500GB, 80GB, 250GB, 250GB), and a PSU of 680 watts with 12GB DDR3 RAM. I’m not sure if the issue is with my drives from around 2007 or just the low-end components. It might be something simple like outdated storage or limited memory. If you have any tips, I’d really appreciate them. I don’t have much budget but I can’t tolerate slow performance.

Launch the task manager and navigate to the "processes" section while playing the game. Identify which part reaches 100% performance. This highlights your main limitation. When you pinpoint what consistently hits 100%, address it to boost your efficiency until the next issue appears.

Thanks for the feedback. I've tried this several times and it seems the main issue is likely the hard drive, not the 750ti. It might be running at low settings because of its age and performance problems.

Reviewing the essential specs reveals this game is quite demanding: http://store.steampowered.com/app/346110...l_Evolved/. I’ve had a comparable setup with Just Cause 3, which appears similarly taxing. At the lowest configuration, I experience 20-40 frames per second, so I wouldn’t be surprised by lower performance in ARK. An SSD would certainly boost overall speed significantly, though I’m uncertain about the exact gain for this title. If you opt for an SSD, at least 240GB is necessary. For a larger Steam library, you’d still need some space on your HDD. Aim for around 500GB if budget allows.

If you want something beyond an SSD, consider a GPU with strong performance for gaming or heavy workloads. Look for models that offer high clock speeds, good memory bandwidth, and solid power efficiency.

From what I observe, the CPU isn’t a major issue—it’s more likely the hard drives and GPU that are causing the slowdown. Also, the game settings you’re using might be affecting performance. I’m not sure whether you’re keeping the AA AF or VSync enabled.

None of these features are active, and all controls are set to low. I really thought the 750ti could handle more than it does now—probably because it’s older and not as updated anymore.
