Hey everyone! Thanks to some community members (big thanks to @YoungBlade) for the support. I'm excited about upgrading to an AMD PC for the first time. Even though I currently have 2x16GB 2666MHz RAM, I’m open to transferring it and exploring options that would be more affordable and better than my setup. A target speed of around 3600MHz sounds good, but I’m not sure about the timing details—any advice would be appreciated. I’d like to stick with the same memory count and get a cooler that supports up to 62mm modules. I’m open to both new and used items from Amazon, eBay, or local listings. If I can find something under $45, I’ll hold off until then since my current upgrade is already around $300 and I need to manage my budget. Any suggestions would be really helpful!

Take a look at the Ram burner screenshot. It should work smoothly at either 3200 or 3800 MHz depending on the situation. Is this your first build? What components did you purchase? The 5700X and the expensive new B550 seem like they could easily be upgraded to something around 12600Kf, which would make the 5700X obsolete in both single-core and multi-core setups.

I haven't received the components yet. I've already purchased the 5700x for around $150 and it's on its way. I have the $109 motherboard and $40 Thermalright FC140 Black in my Amazon cart, hoping to find a good deal on RAM. That's why I'm considering the $300 upgrade—just didn't mention the cooler. Edit: I should note it might be a relatively new setup since I'm switching platforms and changing CPU, motherboard, and cooler. The GPU, case, storage, power supply, peripherals, and monitors will stay the same, except for the case which I really like. I can run the thaiphoon burner test with what I have now, though it only supports up to 2666MHz. Ram sticks 1 and 2. Updated April 15, 2024 by JuanMC45 Added forgotten answer

Here’s a different take on the situation. You could aim for a 4.7-4.8 allcore setup on the 5700X for comparable results, though the 12600K might reach higher speeds when overclocked (>5GHz) and offers better IPC than the Zen 3. What’s your current motherboard CPU lineup? You might be able to sell them for a decent amount plus RAM (around $30–40) and upgrade to a microcenter 7700X combo for about $400, replacing both the 5700X and 12600K while keeping a solid platform for future upgrades. If you’re already spending a lot, consider something durable and affordable—like a used 5600X (~$80) and a mid-range RX 550M or similar (~$50), totaling under $150.

I appreciate the feedback, it could be a good idea to look into it. My system has a weak CPU pairing—Asus H310M-E R2.0 with Core i5-9400F. I enjoy this setup but was curious if you could find a similar configuration on Amazon for international purchase.

What nation is this? Which budget would suit you best? Which platforms are you purchasing from? Besides the processor and motherboard, which parts do you want to swap out? Using a mix of options means you’ll need to resell CPU and board unless they can last at least 3000 hours.

I'm from Colombia, located in South America. The setup is almost identical to the one you mentioned. I can purchase items from platforms like Mercadolibre, Linio, Falabella, and Facebook Marketplace (in Colombia), as well as Amazon with free shipping over $35. However, if the price exceeds $200, import duties become a big concern. The local currency is COP, which roughly equals $3878.95 USD per dollar (search "usd to cop" for details). I aim to stay around $350. I wouldn't need to replace much—just the CPU, motherboard (cooler required), and possibly the PSU. For example, that LGA 1700 board you saw on Amazon wouldn't fit with my current PSU, so I'd have to swap it out. I can hold onto it for a while until I save up, then upgrade later. The used local market might take time to find something suitable. Edited April 15, 2024 by JuanMC45

Checking the local Facebook Marketplace, I noticed a brand new 12700KF priced around $190 US. I might ask the seller to run a stress test just in case, even though it comes with a six-month warranty from their store. Would that offer a better deal, and could I use the funds for a PSU?
