Hey everyone. My system has a 980 Ti with 6Gb of VRAM. When running GTA 5, I can set all graphics options and keep FPS over 60 by using advanced settings, but I’m only using around 3.5 gigabytes. Can anyone suggest ways to boost VRAM usage? Would increasing it actually improve performance? Thanks!

You might think boosting VRAM is useful, but in reality it doesn’t help and can even slow things down. It usually does the opposite of what you expect.

He intended his game to avoid utilizing the existing VRAM.

Why would you wanna increase it? If everything is max not much you can do.

I understand. Since it probably uses 1080p or 1440p, the game won't benefit from extra VRAM. That's why my response is this way.

It was just a misunderstanding. Raising his VRAM would only cause issues if it exceeded 6GB.

VRAM operates differently from GPU load; it allocates only what it requires. Adding more doesn’t help, as it simply isn’t possible.

No one actually looked at the post. You seem confused about why boosting VRAM would be beneficial.
