Your 10980xe runs best with 4.4 all-core + 5 on boosted cores. In both games and apps, those cores stay idle, so they default to cores 8 and 10 instead of 0 and 14. To adjust this, you’ll need to change the core settings in your BIOS or system preferences.

There’s no permanent fix available, but you can open Task Manager, navigate to the details section, right-click the process, and select ‘Set Affinity.’ This option isn’t saved, so you’ll have to repeat it each time.
