If you need only basic graphics, sound, and network features, you can try using an SSD to speed things up after reinstalling Windows 7. This won’t change the OS itself but can improve performance significantly.

An SSD provides the biggest improvement, but keeping windows closed during startup is a solid first step. Using mechanical HDD partitioning can boost speed too, though it means having one slower partition for long-term storage. Configure the open system settings and turn off startup processes or services. Verify their safety before disabling if uncertain.

Ensure minimal settings are active. Turn on quick startup options if available. Remove any extra programs from the boot sequence. Just a few adjustments should suffice.

Thanks everyone, it seems I’ll need to turn off some Windows services until I figure out what’s required.
