I adjusted the PBO Curve Optimiser to negative 25 and noticed a significant drop in CPU idle and load temps—about 15°C lower than before PBO was active. I understand that lower voltage reduces heat, yet I still push my GPU to 4.6GHz in games. My performance matches what I get with default settings, but the temperatures are much better across all scenarios. It seems my motherboard has this capability turned on by default. Why isn’t this feature standard on every board? There must be a technical reason behind it.

I’m not familiar with AMD well enough to explain why... Just make sure it remains stable during a non-gaming stress test. If you notice any issues, consider slightly increasing the voltage.

I completely verified the changes, initially trying -30 which didn’t work, but settling on -25 now. It’s impressive how much heat the CPU can handle while maintaining consistent clock speeds.

I'm experiencing a very comparable scenario with a 5600 setup. My multicore speed has significantly improved thanks to all-core boost, the -25 curve optimizer, and lower temperatures.

With my setup (5600X + MSI B550 Tomahawk), -15 works well. I began at -30 but it was very unstable with frequent restarts. Then I tried -25, which improved slightly but wasn’t solid. -20 felt stable at first, though random reboots still occurred occasionally—about once a week. After several months at -15 without issues, it seems this is the maximum performance for my CPU. I still have the original BIOS that enabled PBO2 (beta), and I’m unsure if an updated BIOS would help, since I had problems before and worried about damaging the board.

It's compatible with every motherboard. It belongs to PBO2, launched together with Zen 3. It functions only on Zen 3 processors, though. Since its release, it hasn't received much promotion, which means many users are unaware of it, and some attempt outdated modifications on Zen 3 without success.

Performing a per-core undervolt is uncommon, especially maintaining a stable negative offset across all cores. With my 5900X, most cores run at -30, but some need less like -25 or -20.

I considered adjusting each core individually but haven’t acted yet. The simplest approach seems to be setting core 1 to -20, performing stress tests, and advancing to the next core at -20 if it succeeds. If instability occurs, I’d revert it to -15. Once all cores are stable at -20, I’d move to -25 on those that passed, then to -30 for the remaining ones.
