Optimize CS:GO performance on a potato laptop.
Optimize CS:GO performance on a potato laptop.
I've moved away from my main PC and now use my 2010 laptop. I've adjusted settings and launched it, but every 10 feet of movement causes noticeable delays lasting about two seconds—making it nearly impossible to play smoothly. I've boosted performance using throttling and specific configurations found at the provided link. My system runs an Intel i3 2330 with 4GB DDR3 RAM and Intel HD graphics. Any suggestions for resolving this issue?
It seems the issue isn't with your laptop but possibly your internet speed. Your old machine runs smoothly at 30 FPS, so check your connection instead of the device itself. Try using offline features to test.
Is your connection working properly? You seem to be facing slow performance when offline or during client-side operations. It looks like a 6-year-old device isn't handling CSGO well. The game is designed for powerful hardware, not a basic setup. If your internet is the issue, you might not get much out of it.
From what I've noticed (my brother has a laptop with comparable specs), it doesn't have enough power to play CS:GO smoothly. Perhaps lowering the resolution to 1280x800 would help, though except for that... my Cherry Trail tablet should handle the game better at that quality.
It slows down your Intel HD Graphics 5500 when there are too many players on the map. At 1080p with no anti-aliasing and except for FXAA, this happens. Since you're already using a script to boost FPS, the best next step is to reduce your resolution.
