Optimization Route for Davinci Resolve on Ryzen 5 2600
Recent 4K footage from a Panasonic Gh4 has caused significant render times to rise (45 minutes for 1.1 hours). I use the studio version of Davinci Resolve and rely on its multithread capabilities. I’m seeking advice on a logical upgrade from my current setup—Ryzen 5 2600, MSI B450 motherboard, 32 GB DDR4 3200, and an RX 570 from Phanteks. A Ryzen 7 3700X was considered but benchmarks from Puget Systems showed only slight gains. For reference, check the recommended systems here: https://www.pugetsystems.com/recommended...mendations What would you suggest?
Do you use h.264 or h.265 video files? I’d really consider using a Nvidia GPU since the hardware encoders perform better that way. For the CPU, a 3900x would be a good starting point—budget-friendly and should handle it without much extra effort. What CPU and GPU performance are you observing? Which export settings are you applying?
CPU stays locked on every processor 100% and I typically save as a mov file.
Recently, playback performance has dropped to 15 to 30 frames per second on a 1080p timeline.
