When I purchased the Gigabyte Z390 Designare, there used to be a manual explaining port assignments, but it’s no longer available. I’m trying to make the best use of my setup—mainly running three 970 Evo Plus drives, two in the M.2 slots and one on the final PCE slot via the PCH. I haven’t connected the GPU to the x16 yet. I also want to know if turning off discrete Thunderbolt and disabling the WiFi adapter would free up PCH bandwidth for my drives. The guide I had mentioned which listed USB port lane sharing is gone too.

Visit the Gigabytes support site, search for your motherboard, and download the accompanying manual—it usually covers all the lanes. Alternatively, check a professional tech review; they may clarify the lanes as well.

Unfortunately, the instructions aren't included in the guide. I must have missed it somewhere else...

If the manual doesn't state any components being turned off when certain slots are filled, you should be able to use everything without issues.
